Our Commitment to Sustainability
Our goal is to run a sustainable business and make a lasting reduction to our carbon footprint. We go above and beyond to eliminate waste, reduce our energy consumption and impact on the environment.
Here are some of the key steps we have taken:
Recycle and Reuse
We avoid waste, recycle or reuse whatever we can.
Plastic milk bottles and Tetra Pak cartons are recycled, coffee pucks are composted, and we only use single-use plastics when there is no alternative.
Food Waste
We have joined OLIO. If we have any surplus supplies, we share them with neighbours and local businesses.
Coffee Beans
We use coffee beans that are grown to a higher standard than Fair Trade, which means the farmer gets a higher price for producing better quality beans that have been grown using sustainable production methods.
Tea
We use ethically sourced, organic tea. The teabags are plastic-free, and all packaging is recycled or biodegradable.
Coffee Cups
We are one of the first mobile coffee companies to use plastic-free cups which can be recycled as paper or cardboard.
Our cups do not have a plastic lining and are not made from PLA, which will only biodegrade in a commercial composting facility. Biodegradable coffee cups are a bit of a myth because the vast majority will end up in a landfill.
Reusable Coffee Cups
Reusable cups are the best option, but unfortunately, the risk of infection prevents their use at the moment.
Power
We have switched to a 100% renewable electricity supplier and continually look at ways to reduce our energy consumption.
Carbon Offsetting
Where we have no alternative but to use fossil fuels, we calculate the value of our CO2 emissions and donate to the Woodland Trust to balance the situation
Cleaning Materials
We use cleaning products that have been carefully sourced to ensure they not only clean but thoroughly sanitise equipment and surfaces. We have the highest Food Hygiene Rating, now more critical than ever. The cleaning materials we use are non-toxic, biodegradable and do not harm the environment.
Paperless
We keep all our administration electronic and as paperless as possible.
